Alexa Chung Style Icon, Always…

I can’t help but admire Alexa Chung’s style. I truly think she dances to her own beat.

Alexa Chung seems to take her style with ease. I like how she plays around with looks and sometimes dresses ‘little girl’ like. For me, I approach fashion and my sense of style with as much humor.

I really love this picture below of Alexa because it’s youthful “little girl” like but still so elegant and chic.

I especially love her gold star tipped shoes above.

How much do I love this short sleeved sweater with what looks like a doile collar?!

Clémence Poésy

Can I just say that I adore Clemence Poesy I love her name and her style. She is a French actress that you may have seen in Harry Potter as Fleur.

I love her style because she is so easy going, yet some how looks so pulled together. The middle outfit is something that I already own, I love Balenciaga! The tailoring of their moto-jackets are exceptional. I own a dark brown and a black moto-jacket.

I love how her style is sexy and elegant she can wear a mini and a midi and still look so chic.

Taylor Swift Style Icon

Oi!

Taylor Swift is such a lovely young lady. Lately, I’ve been really in love with some of her style selections. I wanted to share them with you today.

I love this outfit! Before, clothes with the color red in it did not appeal to me so much. I think that the color red has changed over the years. There are more dual tones to red. Like the skinny cigarette jeans she’s wearing above. The red is a more tomato red which match really well with her gold statin toned ballet flats.

Here is another striped and red combo that I think is really lady like, classic, and tres chic. I love this outfit so much. And I really admire how she puts together pieces in the same color palette but different looks. A style that speaks to my heart.

It’s really simple, elegant, and can be elevated for a special occasion with heels and a red clutch.

I also really like how Taylor Swift does not try to wear clothing that is skin tight and shows too much. I think she is a great style inspiration for young ladies.

My last outfit inspiration, a cold weather staple, statement coat. I really love how she buttons her toggle, velvet, burt copper-red coat. It is really chic. Feminine, classic, no fuss winter outfit.

I’ll have to shop my wardrobe to see what inspirational looks I can find from Taylor Swift.

Françoise Hardy

Olá,

I hope you are all doing well, I wanted to share another style inspiration with you all. Françoise Hardy is a French singer, actress, astrologer and muse in the fashion industry.

I personally love her look. She has that quiet sadness about her that sorta translates to her music as well as her look.

Here are few photos that I am inspired by.

Can I just tell you that this is my all time favorite look! I I have most of these pieces sans the 1969, but I think a retro inspired motorbike will suffice.

There is something about Hardy that I can relate to. She had a difficult childhood which could lead some people to isolation and other terrible things as adults, Hardy on the other hand shares music which in my opinion is a form of love and compassion.

Airport Fashion Miranda Kerr

Ola!

Okay, so I was searching around my archives of outfit inspirations and I happen to find this one of the beautiful Miranda Kerr. I have this entire outfit! I can’t actually believe it! I find myself shopping in my own closet versus the actual shops which I think is so super cool. I truly believe that wardrobe pieces can be mix and matched as often as you can until its super warned down. I totally think that buying clothes all the time and only wearing pieces a few times is a waste of resources. People talk about being aware of wasting resources when there are so many wasted on throw away pieces. So I think that shopping my closet is better for the environment than shopping at a store for something I already own. Oooo, one more thing, buying pieces that are of good quality that will last through time is way better than buying something that falls apart when you are wearing it or when you wash it for the first time. Designer clothes can make a dent in your wardrobe budget so, paring pieces that are good quality that aren’t necessarily designer pieces is what counts. There are so many options for good high street wear that are actually really good quality.

She’s wearing the famous Isabel Marant Dicker booties in Taupe that I actually just hauled in Paris at the Isabel Marant boutique. Thought I don’t have a cream or tanned colored wide brimmed felt hat just yet, I do have a black one that I could just add a brown or tan ribbon to or something like that.

Style Icon looks I am inspired by for Summer 2012

Ola!

While I don’t own an Hermes… yet, I do have my Mulberry Alexa in Oak Soft Buffalo that would be fabulous with this Olivia Palermo style inspiration.

I just love this aubergine blazer, embellished cream button up, smokey eyes, and black bottoms. Though, I don’t own an aubergine blazer, I will keep my eyes open on a look out for one.

I love everything about this look. It has a sort of gypsy look about it with those tan colored opened toed lace up booties and that brown wide brimmed hat. Lucky for me, I happen to own a black wide brimmed hat already and most of these pieces are in my closet already.

Dita Von Teese

Ola!

Dita Von Teese. I think that Dita Von Teese is a style icon because she is elegant, classy, alluring, and all woman. She is a sexy woman that has curves and knows how to dress with class.

I also love her quotes. Here is one that truly reaches me from the heart.

She also openly acknowledges that she does her own red carpet, event, and show makeup. I love that she is honest and open to share her tips and tricks for being glamourous all the time.

It’s nice to feel comfortable in what I wear around the house, I must admit I did own one pair of sweat pants. I’d some how gotten in my mind that if I wore said sweat pants around the house, I would be comfortable. So, I always attached those pants to comfort, but at the same time, I felt really sloppy wearing them and I’d never leave our flat with them on, I’d aways change into something more chic. So, I removed that thought process right away and evaluated what made me comfortable.

Now, I don’t own said sweat pants.

I realize, I don’t ever want to feel sloppy. So, I lounge around in comfortable clothes that are still chic and glamourous that don’t make me feel sloppy, but good about myself. Now don’t get me wrong, I don’t need to wear a particular item of clothing to feel good about myself. I always feel good about myself. But, I like to wear clothes, rather than walk around naked everywhere. Why not just wear something glamours or chic? As Dita would say, “Why not?”

Olivia Palmero New OOFTD Inspirations 2012

Ola!

I just love this outfit of the day inspiration from Olivia Palermo. Everything about the details, textures, prints and color palette is so feminine, pretty and chic. I have pieces in my wardrobe that are very similar to this inspiration that I think I will make it my own.

Good new is I finally got my dream camera the Canon T3i and a separate professional lens called Tamaron 17-50 for canon, plus…a remote control. Since I don’t really have anyone taking OOFTD pictures for me on a daily basis, I think I am going to try to give this a go. Will take some time to get used, hopefully in the near future there will be some pictures of me on here (taken by me).

Anyways, I was watching some YouTube video on Fashion T.V.’s channel and a couple of clips had Olivia on there. I like how she says that she likes to mix and match her pieces and where them as many times with different looks.

I totally agree! I think wearing pieces of clothing and accessories in many different ways is very chic and fashionista worthy. Buying multi pieces and only wearing them once is a waste of resources, in my opinion.

I have admired Kate Moss since I was a young girl in the late 80′s. I remember waking up really early in the morning to watch Fashion T.V. and I’d wait to watch Kate Moss walk the runway. Now, I really admire Kate Moss for her sense of style.

I love how she has an understated elegance to her look but yet so very 80′s supermodel married to a rock in roll star look about her.
