A Journey to a New Body…Mid-week Update!

August 24, 2012 by odeliza | No Comments | Filed in Featured, Health & Fitness, Love & Life Style

So far, I’ve done well in the 10-minute work out videos. I took a break yesterday, Wednesday, because I know from works outs in the past that my body becomes familiar with the work out routine after just three days.

Today, I going to try to do these two different 10-minute routines in a row and see how I feel about it. Food wise, any time since for ever, every half of the month, I always eat a bit too much. I understand now, that it is due to my cycle, and maybe some of you ladies struggle with it as well. So, yesterday I did eat more that I should of, granted protein is what I crave , so I over eat protein mostly. So maybe that is a good thing. Today for lunch and dinner I am going to try to create a larger sized portion for myself and see how I feel later tonight. And since I have not had breakfast yet, (as I write out this post) I am going to make hard broiled eggs and eat that along with my muesli and see how I feel.

Follow along with me if you like! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are all doing well. Beso

A Journey to a New Body…

August 20, 2012 by odeliza | No Comments | Filed in Featured, Health & Fitness, Love & Life Style

Okay, so lately I’ve been feeling a little, well…less fit then I once was. As a child I was always active and did some form of exercise, I really loved to be outdoors.

In my teens I never missed a work out session or yoga session at my local gym. In my early 20′s, still worked out at the gym. I ate pretty much the same, but was able to stay lean and slim.

Around my mid to late 20′s up to now in my early thirties, fitness has been an off and on activity.

I still eat the same types of food but I can see that I am not as disciplined in fitness as I once was.

So, I weighted my self the other day and I am 60kilos which is about 130 lbs and I am about 5’4″ my pant size is a 26 in 7For All Man Kind, and a 27 in Adriano Goldshmiched jeans. Blouses are between a small and medium depending on the style. I have been between 127lbs to 130lbs for about ten years now.

My earlier weight was mostly muscle and my current weight is mostly fat. Though I do not have a muffin top or salt shakers for arms, I still am not lean as I used to be.

I can really tell that my legs aren’t Tina Turner-ish anymore. There is a shadow of the Turner but very subdue. My shoulders used to be coconuts and now they look more like, well… I have no idea what I can equate to how my shoulders are now.

At least I still retain my tight abs, sans the old washboard.

Now, some of you may think that I am pretty fit. I think I am for my age and I think all the hard work I did before really has helped.

But it takes a consistent amount of effort to stay lean and in the best physical shape one can possibly be.

And my body is screaming at me to get up off my ass and get to some exercising.

So, I made an announcement to myself and then to my husband as witness that I shall attempt to loose the fat by the end of this year and be at least 120-125lbs of muscle and stay that way.

As you can see above, I provided a video of my first attempt at introducing a fitness routine to my schedule.

I’ve already done said routine yesterday and today. Actually I am writing this blog right after I finished said work out as more of a break really. I think I may do another ten minute routine after I finished this post.

My goal is to feel more energized. I don’t necessarily want to loose a pant size as I don’t want to have to shop for more pants or skirts. I probably would just have them taken in because I love all my clothes. And, being too thin does not look good on my frame so, I just want to be fit and healthy that is the sum of it.

Anyways, for the rest of this week, since I started yesterday, Sunday, I shall do the ten minute routines I have added along this post. By the coming Sunday, I shall see how I feel and create a completely new routine for the week to come.

Luckily, I’ve kept track of how my muscles and body reacts to fitness routines and know and understand how I should shock myself to a fitter body.

That leaves the month of September when I commence my Make Up For Ever Academy’s full time make up artist program. Two weeks till start of Academy!

My two week goal (which is about the last half of August) is to pre-train every day with these mini 10 minute work outs and a couple walks with Theo and Midori.

Food wise my menu for breakfast will be Museli, coffee with agave, and about 2-4 tall glasses of water.

Lunch will be a third of a fresh baguette sandwich (with either hard broiled egg whites, tuna, or chicken breast) small side of raw vegetables and raw fruit with at least 2 tall water glasses.

Dinner, some sort of protein dish, fresh vegetables, artesian pasta or some sort of pilaf dish and some sort of fresh fruit.

If I get hungry in between meals I think I shall try to drink more water and maybe see how I feel about that.

This is already how I eat now, I just wanted to write it out for those that are interested.

Really, snacking in between meals for me is a no-no. My body doesn’t like it and my stomach starts to protest. So, I know what works for me, it may not work for you, you could always give it a go and see, or not.

The one thing I have about drinking loads of water is that I have such a small bladder that I have to go to the rest room every 5-10 minutes (no joke, husband hates it) and Paris does not really have a whole lot of places to go to the bath room. Some men, go on the street ( I know…yikes, turn the other way and keep walking along), I shall hope I am not in such a desperate position to have to resort to swatting on the streets of Paris.

So, this is why I’ve added loads of water for these two weeks to come, for when I start MUFE Academy, I am going to have to see where there is a rest room in the school (I imagine there is one, but I’ve been surprised of many lately).

Okay, here are the other 10 minutes videos I have lined up for the entire week up to Sunday of next.

Follow along with me if you like, that way I feel as if we are doing this pre-training fitness regime together.

Domingo, Damanche… Sunday

April 1, 2012 by odeliza | No Comments | Filed in Health & Fitness, Love & Life Style, Odeliza's Personal Journal

Oi Gentes!

It’s Sunday, April 1, 2012! There won’t ever be another April 1, 2012 again. I know weird to start my intro that way. But I guess the reason why I thought of that is, the day is almost over and I actually got a lot of things accomplished and am relishing in the fact that this date won’t come again.

I suppose you could say I live in the moment. Well, that is correct my fine friend. I do, though thoughts of the future are  some where filed away in my “mind file cabinet”, I try my best to live in the moment. Our world today moves at the speed of a click of the ‘enter’ button on your key board, iPhone, etc. It’s important for me to relish and marinate in the moment other wise it won’t come back to me.

That is why I enjoy taking photographs, each one captures a distant memory.

So, in the near future, there are talks about a proper camera to take along with us on our latest adventure. Hopefully my very frugal husband will consider that the benefits out weigh the cost and spend the money for said proper camera.

I am sure I will talk him in to it.

Though he did just give me an iPad 3 for our 1 year aniversario.

I digress, it’ Damanche! Sunday! Domingo! Hope you enjoyed your Sunday, and I shall see you again real soon!

I’m moving…

March 30, 2012 by odeliza | No Comments | Filed in Health & Fitness, Love & Life Style, Odeliza's Personal Journal

Oi Gentes,

Well, you read the title correct. I am moving. Do you see the gray skies in the back ground? This is a normal occurrence where I currently reside. It can get quite daunting at times. So much so that I relented and purchased a rather chic and unique rain coat with a cute hoody the color of my Mulberry Bayswater in Foggy Gray. I am not wearing it in this picture, as a matter a fact I’ve only worn it twice and since then the rain was really a bit much. It did work though! I was rather surprise at how well my new rain coat repelled water.

I figure I’ll keep it along with me once I move since it is the most chic rain coat I’ve ever seen around this here parts ;)

I’ll hopefully insert a photo soon.

Anyways, yes, long intro, but I am moving. This move has been in the background for about half of last year up to this very month. I did not want to talk about it with you all until I knew for sure that we would move. This month I got the final confirmation that yes! We are moving.

Where? Let’s just say even if it rained, I would still think that this new place will be romantic in the rain. I don’t really want to say where exactly until I set my feet on said mystery location. Call me superstitious, I’m more of an action person and less of a talker person.

So, yes, I am in the process of reconciling all of our household things as well as, separating out clothing, shoes, and accessories that will not go with. Plus more of course, my husband’s wardrobe is meager compared to mine, so that chore would be light.

Really, the only large and time consuming tasks would be clearing out our flat and my things.

I figured it should take me one week for my things and another week for our flat.

I already started working on separating my wardrobe from the keep and the giveaway pile.

So, if you are curious about what are the things I am doing. I will create a sort a, blog post series on our latest adventure!

It’s Snowing and I want to weather leather…

March 17, 2012 by odeliza | No Comments | Filed in Health & Fitness, Love & Life Style, Odeliza's Personal Journal

Oi Gentes,

Well, this past week has been an up and down-high and low for both my personal self and the weather. First it’s sunny and then it hails, then to end the bizarre weather it snows! I so want to tote around my beautiful Proenza Schouler’s messenger bags and my new Mulberry’s and Balenciaga’s, but how could I?

I would rather get wet than have any of my precious babies spotted with water!

So, that aside, I am just so tired of this weather. If you’ve followed my blog since the late 90′s you’d know that this type of dark dreary weather gets to my head a bit. I was raised in tropical climates or sunnier weather. Having traveled and lived in areas of the globe where the reprieve from the dark days is rare and limited in time is becoming to be a bit of a bother for me. Granted I do have a little luxury in that, my other half says we could move some where sunnier.

Of course who wouldn’t want to live in Bali? But after awhile I start to want to work on my career as a makeup artist and licensed aesthetician, plus other things I enjoy to do that I can’t quite do if I were to live like a tourist in Bali.

So what has been my solution these past few weeks, I mean, MONTHS? First it was to work out more, it was going along so well until my laptop decided to die on me forever. Now I get in a work out here and there by taking the stairs instead of the elevator and by walking a bit more when I can. Second, I try to think happy thoughts and look forward to what is ahead. I have some really interesting things that could be happening to me in the near future that I can’t wait to share with you all, but for now, I have to wait myself.

Then there is shopping online. Which is not something I do often, but it does help cheer me up.

Then there is my makeup artistry work, which is slow at the moment, so I try to work on ideas and get inspired by future trends.

My Beauty Blog, which I am trying to slowly create a bit more interesting and more up to date posts.

My Beauty Channel, which I try to create new content once a week.

So, I’ve tried to keep myself busy while the weather traps me in doors.

I just can’t wait for any glimpse of Spring to come along so I can start to feel human again instead of a hibernating bear.

I hope you found my post maybe amusing if you have not done so, have a look at my beauty channel (Odeliza’s Beauty Channel) and please show your support by subscribing it means the world to me ;) You can also follow me on Twitter by clicking here (Odeliza’s Twitter)

No Makeup in March 2012

March 13, 2012 by odeliza | No Comments | Filed in Health & Fitness, Love & Life Style, Odeliza's Personal Journal

Oi!

Well maybe I should say, no new makeup purchasing for the month of March 2012. I thought the No Makeup in March 2012 title was a bit more interesting sounding. Anyways, yes, this is my first ever attempt at not purchasing makeup for a whole month. Granted, skin care does not count in my opinion, because it is more of a large buy that should sustain me for at least a few months. Where as makeup is more of an addition to my collection and to keep up with the latest trends in color, texture, and quality.

So, why did I do this to myself? If you are anything like me, you may enjoy the feeling of chasing down limited edition collections and then finally getting your pretty hands on them. Then off to the next limited edition collection to buy and then slightly forget about your most recent buy.

Yes, guilty, that is I. So, this is why I will attempt to not buy any makeup for this month, March 2012. I really want to get to know my ever growing fabulous collection of makeup products. Not only for my own personal use, but for my work as a makeup artist. When I go on set, I like to stick with products I know and trust, but there are so many options out there for me that I seem to shy away from branching off.

Really, that was the original idea for adding to my collection in the first place. To branch off! Try new and interesting things! So, with my new and interesting products I will make a daily attempt to sketch out looks for various aspects that require my touch, from working with my favorite Brazilian models in Rio and SP, to a few actress friends in BA, Argentina and to my gal pals on my beauty channel. My goal is to try to introduce fresh and simple ways to re-create some of my makeup art.

Boa Sorte to me neh?

Carrie sings a song for me…

January 21, 2012 by odeliza | No Comments | Filed in Health & Fitness, Love & Life Style

Oi Amigas!

I am so happy to share with you a friend of mine that I met through YouTube, her name is Carrie and her channel is here (Usagiflower) she sang a beautiful rendition of one of my favorite singers Andrea Bocelli.
