Smashbox Be Legendary Lipstick 2012

February 23, 2012 by odeliza | No Comments | Filed in Favorite Products

Oi!

As you all know by now, I adorei Smashbox Cosmetics. Everything they create is so fabulous, well made, tailored to the woman that is super chic yet super down to earth. Sounds a lot like most of us, neh?

In this photo above, I am wearing Melondrama, which is a beautiful soft-peach tone that is opaque in just one swipe. I love these be legendary lipsticks because I get two in one, it has Vitamin C and E which are good antioxidants that help protect my lips and moisturize at the same time and the color is long lasting.

In this second photo of me below, I am wearing Pink Petal that has a creamy-demi glossy finish. I have no idea why I look so pale in this photo, but there you have it ;)

Here are the swatches on the back of my manos. The lightning is not as good as I’d hoped, so I am going to try to take another photo of swatches this weekend.

In the meantime, if you are interested in the Smashbox’s Be Legendary Lipsticks you can click here (Smashbox.com) and have a look for your self.

Thanks for stopping by my beauty blog!

Smashbox Wish Holiday 2010

October 11, 2010 by odeliza | No Comments | Filed in Favorite Products, Hauls

Oi Amigas,

I’m so excited to share with you my most recent makeup haul! Come read all about hauls here. I love Smashbox! I’ve been a loyal supporter since the late 90′s.

I think this Wish Palette is a good deal for the price. I paid 45 USD for the palette and the lip glosses are 29 USD and eye pencils 16 USD. Most of you know how much I love a good deal, their holiday edition is definitely a STEAL!

I’ve 2 Makeup Tutorials, Smashbox Make A Wish Series 1 and Halloween Sexy Devil, come check it out if you haven’t already. As you can see a little goes a long way with these pigments.

12 x 0.63 oz eye shadows:

#1 champagne

#2 soft gray

#3 matte bone

#4 ballet pink

#5 shimmering bronze

#6 mauve

#7 aqua

#8 cool gray

#9 warm brown

#10 eggplant

#11 deep teal

#12 charcoal

1 x 0.02 oz Photo Finish Lid Primer Mini
1 x 0.20 oz Lash DNA Mascara Mini

In my video I used blue-black as a base liner. It looks black if applied with an eye-liner brush, but if smudged, OMG! The color is FABULOUS! It looks like the South Pacific waters where it’s blue and black. I’d say, it looks like the ocean surrounding the French Polynesian islands. Seriously. Memories, aw how I long to go back ;(

These are the cream liners of the Wish Palette. The Palette is numbered according to their Eye Wish Look Book. You’ll find step by step instructions on how to get Smashbox’s celebrity looks. I think I might recreate their looks in feature tutorials;) Starting from the upper left corner is no. 13 which is a dark brown with a slight metal shine. No. 14 is a rich black violet. No. 15 is my all time favorite, a gorgeous blue black shade. No. 16 is a gun metal which is at the very lower right corner.

4 x 0.03 oz Limitless Eye Liners in Onyx, Orchid, Graphite, and 14k

The liners are very creamy. I have to spend some more time getting to know these pencils before I do a complete write up. So with the colors in mind, here are the swatches.

Starting from right to left in the lower half of my brazzo (arm), Graphite a gun metal shine, Orchid a rich plum, 14K a slightly gold fleshy toned color is the best description I could find. Lastly the bottom is  Onyx, black with no shine.

2 x 0.20 oz lip glosses in Luster (sheer golden pink) and Candid (pink with gold shimmer)
4 x 0.14 oz lip glosses in Radiant (shimmering pink plum), Baby Pout (a sheer and shimmering version of Pout), Ecstasy (shimmering blackberry), and Divine (golden nude)

Beginning from the top of my brazzo (arm), Ecstasy which is a rich shimmery plum, Radiant a sheer plum with shimmer, Divine a nude with gold shimmer, and Baby Pout, a sheer flesh toned color.

The .20 oz lip glosses, from bottom to top, Luster is a sheer flesh toned color with a very light gold hue and Candid is my all time FAV. It’s the peachy pinky gloss for Fall and Winter! I love it! I think I’m going to buy a few more wands just in case they stop carrying it.

Bom Amigas, I hope this post was helpful :) Thanks for stopping by my website and if you haven’t already please show your support by subscribing to my Beauty Channel and passing it along to your BFFS and friends…Frenimes too ;P

Fall Nail Polish Collection 2010 Revlon

September 22, 2010 by odeliza | No Comments | Filed in Favorite Products, Hauls

Oi Amigas,

Nail polishes are a relatively in-expensive way in enhancing your individual style. One doesn’t want to spend an enormous amount of money on nail polish if you change the color according to your attire, event, or even mood, as I do;P

There are so many cosmetic lines to choose from from the high end brands to the low end brands. I gear towards the middle end brands such as Revlon, China Glaze, and OPI. Although, I think OPI is really reaching up there as far as prices are concerned.

For Fall / Winter colors I tend to gravitate more towards the darker shades that have a slight metallic sheen. In my Fall Nail Polish Video I shared with you my most recent nail polish ‘Haul’ (click here for my thoughts about ‘Hauls’ “Haul Monthly Budget“).

The colors I loved the most are Steel her Heart, Silver Screen, Plum Night, and Midnight Affair.

The color below is what I’m wearing in the Fall Nail Polish Video, ‘Steel Her Heart’.

‘Midnight Affair’ looks like the color of dark denim jeans.

Silver Screen’ looks like sterling silver accessories, but on your nails ;P

‘Plum Night’ looks like the color of a Merlot or dark grapes ;P

Bom amigas, I hope you’ve found this post helpful! Thanks for visiting my website.

Revlon Photo Ready Foundation

July 20, 2010 by odeliza | No Comments | Filed in Beauty Tips, Favorite Products, Hauls

I purchased the Revlon Photo Ready Foundation in Golden Beige by color comparison I’m an NC35 in MAC’s foundations.Golden Beige is a bit light but rather close to my natural skin tone. The next time I stop by the drug store I’ll have to find one shade darker and try to mix the colors in an attempt at a more honey beige color.I’m naturally tanned. Unless of course I’ve abused time in the sun therefore I turn into Poka Hountess-ish :P Anyways.

At first I was a bit skeptical, in the past, I was not impressed by the quality of most drug store brand makeups. Revlon’s PhotoReady foundation really surprised me.

First I must digress a bit. Having traveled and lived in and around South American countries, I’ve found that what’s considered to be a “Drug Store” brand cosmetic line in North America and United Kingdom is advertised and sold in most South American countries as a “Higher End” brand cosmetic line. So, with this in mind I approach cosmetic products with the idea that it’s all about the marketing and availability and one must really aim at trying any product first no matter what name brand it boasts.

So, tried Revlon’s PhotoReady, for one week. Upon first application I noticed right away that my skin tone looked Even and Radiant. Then through out the entire day (including the evening) the foundation stayed put. Note, it was a rather hot and humid day, so I was really impressed that I did not show too much shine around my T-Zone areas and that my foundation did not melt off or require touch ups.

Revlon PhotoReady foundation boasts a pore less and an airbrushed finish in any light. With photo-chromatic pigments that bend and reflect light to help disguise flaws. Its Oil free, Fragrance free and most importantly has SPF 20. Wow!

The container has a pump, which I favor most than a compact and a simple cap. The pump helps control the amount dispensed, I used only half a pump and the results were medium coverage. Double Wow!

Prices really very from country to country, but in North America, I paid around $14.00. I think this is a deal! Considering I’ve paid up to $60.00 to $100.00 USD for foundation.

I hope my product review for Revlon’s PhotoReady Foundation was helpful and maybe amusing! Don’t forget to follow me on Twitter for all the happenings with my globe trotting life!

Ciao Belas!

How to Get the Most out of your Facial Mask

July 1, 2010 by odeliza | No Comments | Filed in Beauty Tips, Favorite Products

Ever since I’ve been using Elizabeth Arden Deep Clean Facial Mask my face has been less prone to monthly breakouts, no blotching, smaller pores, and firmer skin!

I love the Deep Clean Facial Mask! Its Fabulous.

Here are some tips to get the most out of your facial mask.

How to Get the Most out of your Facial Mask

1. Make sure your face has been exfoliated prior to applying your mask.

2. Once you’ve rinsed your face, press warm water all through out your entire face including your neck.

3. Do not wipe off the warm water! Apply a very thin layer of facial mask on to your face as well as your neck. * Applying warm water on your face prior to applying the mask helps open up your pores as well as acts as an agent to get the most out of your mask.* I learned this trick from my mother, a licensed Esthetician for over 20 years.

4. Allow to sit on your face for the amount of time specified on the bottle or container. Rinse off and pat on your facial tonic, apply eye cream, then moisturizer, and an SPF cream if you are going out side no matter if the sun doesn’t shine!

Clarins One Step Facial Cleanser

June 12, 2010 by odeliza | No Comments | Filed in Favorite Products

When I have to dash to the airport or in my hotel room ready to crash after a long flight, I really don’t want to wash my face. Ugh. I know that could be a total sin for some of you, it is for me too!

So, I always have a bottle of Clarins One Step Facial Cleanser. It removes my makeup, cleans the travel grime off my face, tones, and moisturizes in one step ;)

I’ve used this product for years! So I have really easily irritated skin, Clarins skin care line  has worked really well for me. In some countries Clarins costs loads of money. But when you go to an international airport, you could buy loads of high end goods DUTY Free (no tax or iva). But if you’re in some of the countries that sells Clarins at a more reasonable price maybe you could add this one to your monthly Haul. Give it a try! I love it!

I would not recommend to use this product every day. Only when you are super tired or are pressed for time and can’t clean your face with your normal routine. Its perfect for sensitive skin types :)
