@JoJo78621? Hi, depends on how tall you plant is and how many stems it has. What I normally would do if I had an actual aloe plant is to cut the shortest stem from the base leaving at least a few inches for regrowth. Once cut, split in half and scoop the meat part out with a spoon trying to get as much gel or sticky substance out. Place in clean sealed jar and put in the fridge once done. I use it as a day and night mask. Leave on for 5-15min. depending on your skin texture. Hope that helps! Beso

Oi Gentes!

Here are some tips on how to prevent dehydration, break outs, and more on a plane

Step One

Thoroughly cleanses, tone, and moisturize your skin before you go to the airport.

Step Two

Apply eye cream on your under eyes as well as on your lids all the way up to your brow bone.

Step Three

Follow up with a good makeup base. Allow the makeup base to sit on your cleanse skin for at least 5-10 minutes. I know this seems to be a long wait time, but I assure you, if you let your primer / makeup base sit on your skin it will act like a protection shield against all the stale air in the plane. I like to use Smashbox’s Photo Finish Primer in Light as well as their Sheer Focus Tinted moisturizer in Luminous, the latter as a moisturize the former as my actual makeup base / primer.

Optional Step

Follow up with you everyday makeup routine.

Bonus Tip!

Here’s a little Do’s and Don’ts while on the plane

Do:

Hydrate, by drinking water and by limiting the amount of caffeine intake, while on the plane.

Stay away from any alcoholic beverages or food that has too much salt by toting around a zone bar, nuts, dried fruit, or healthy baked chips in your carry on bag or purse.

Sanitize your hands by washing them and or using an antibacterial instant hand sanitizer every time you use the rest room and open the over head compartments.

By dabbing a bit of hand sanitizer on a paper towel or tissue and using it to wipe down your cell phones, head phones and travel pillows will give you extra protection against circulated air line germs. YUCK!

Idle air time could be a great time to catch some extra sleep, so try to rest your eyes as much as possible.

Don’ts

Do not ever touch your face. Never! Even if you sanitized your hands. In reality, your finger nails still trap germs, dirt, and other nasty things. So, please do not ever touch your face. If you must itch your face for any reason, use a clean tissue.

Some people think that by slathering on more moisturizer on their face will help prevent dehydration, but the reality is, your face should be thoroughly cleansed prior to applying a moisturizer. And using a facial wipe or makeup wipe remover is not going to thoroughly remove all dirt build up , oil, makeup, and other germ-things that sit on your face from the circulated air in the airplane. This is why I suggest the first step.

Others think that by using a one time use disposable mask will help cleanse, tone, hydrate, tighten, etc. etc. the skin. I’ll elaborate further on one time masks in a future post, but for now I suggest that you do not do this. You must cleanse your face thoroughly prior to applying a mask that will sit on your face any where between 5-20 minutes. If you did not cleanse your face thoroughly, the mask on your face is just trapping all the dirt build up and more. I will discuss on another post on what type of masks may work best for different skin types while traveling.

Have you seen the rest ‘rooms’ on a plane? Does it indicate to you that the area around it has been cleaned and sanitized during your flight time? Maybe it has been wiped down prior to board time, but to be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized is a bit questionable if you ask me. Also, please don’t think that business class and first class bathrooms are different. It is the same. The only differences I’ve found are two things, one there is a hand moisturizer and hand wash in the private cabin bath room and two, the flight attendants are so much nicer. That’s it. I digress, if you think bringing on board a facial wash, toner, and moisturizer to use during flight time in the bath room will help you, I truly beg to differ.

Using bottled water with a muslin cloth along with your facial wash while sitting on your seat, is questionable and highly unsanitary.

Hope this post helps!

Boa viagem!

Oi Gentes!

I had a severe reaction to a skin cream I purchased and have had to repair the damage done to my poor skin. The reaction was cystic acne that would not ‘come to a head’. Meaning, the acne was hard in texture and buried deep in my skin. So, I turned to a cream cleanser that from experience worked for my skin . The original deep cleansing cream, Noxzema.

I purchased the 12oz for around 5 USD and have used it day and night since my skin’s reaction.

Here are my Pros. and Cons.

Pros:

1. Removes makeup, oil, dirt, and other residue with out leaving my skin parched

2. Has Camphor in it which is great for oily and acne prone skin. (I have normal skin, but had a reaction that created acne)

3. Is a cream cleanser which works best for normal to acne prone skin

4. 12oz for around 5 USD

5. Has gradually decreased the texture and size of my cystic acne

6. Has minty sensation which wakes me up in the morning and refreshes me in the evening

7. Leaves my skin clean and glowing

Cons:

1. The smell is a bit much

As you can see I have only one con, which is the smell. I can not describe it very well other than it has a slightly sea salt and clay mud mask smell.

Other than that, Amo! I will continue to use this product from now on. Especially since, in North America its sold rather economically.

I felt awful when I had that reaction and now, my skin feels so much better and that cystic acne is fading away.

Bom gentes, hope you’ve found my post on Noxzema maybe helpful and amusing. Please show your support by subscribing to my Beauty Channel on YouTube.

I purchased the Revlon Photo Ready Foundation in Golden Beige by color comparison I’m an NC35 in MAC’s foundations.Golden Beige is a bit light but rather close to my natural skin tone. The next time I stop by the drug store I’ll have to find one shade darker and try to mix the colors in an attempt at a more honey beige color.I’m naturally tanned. Unless of course I’ve abused time in the sun therefore I turn into Poka Hountess-ish Anyways.

At first I was a bit skeptical, in the past, I was not impressed by the quality of most drug store brand makeups. Revlon’s PhotoReady foundation really surprised me.

First I must digress a bit. Having traveled and lived in and around South American countries, I’ve found that what’s considered to be a “Drug Store” brand cosmetic line in North America and United Kingdom is advertised and sold in most South American countries as a “Higher End” brand cosmetic line. So, with this in mind I approach cosmetic products with the idea that it’s all about the marketing and availability and one must really aim at trying any product first no matter what name brand it boasts.

So, tried Revlon’s PhotoReady, for one week. Upon first application I noticed right away that my skin tone looked Even and Radiant. Then through out the entire day (including the evening) the foundation stayed put. Note, it was a rather hot and humid day, so I was really impressed that I did not show too much shine around my T-Zone areas and that my foundation did not melt off or require touch ups.

Revlon PhotoReady foundation boasts a pore less and an airbrushed finish in any light. With photo-chromatic pigments that bend and reflect light to help disguise flaws. Its Oil free, Fragrance free and most importantly has SPF 20. Wow!

The container has a pump, which I favor most than a compact and a simple cap. The pump helps control the amount dispensed, I used only half a pump and the results were medium coverage. Double Wow!

Prices really very from country to country, but in North America, I paid around $14.00. I think this is a deal! Considering I’ve paid up to $60.00 to $100.00 USD for foundation.

I hope my product review for Revlon’s PhotoReady Foundation was helpful and maybe amusing!
The results?

AMAZING!

My skin is taut! No more double chin!

That’s a real break through

This company in Costa Mesa has discovered the holy grail of prevention for double chins and loose skin in the neck area!

Honestly, at first, I wanted to use it for my under eye area. And yes, I did notice that (as I’ve mentioned) the area is much more hydrated. But when I started using the creme on my neck and chin, that’s when I really started to see some changes!

I could not believe that this creme could restore the youth of the skin on my neck and tighten up my double chin. ;P

CarePlus is my secret, but I’m willing to share it with you, my loyal readers and subscribers. Hope you find them useful!

Ever since I’ve been using Elizabeth Arden Deep Clean Facial Mask my face has been less prone to monthly breakouts, no blotching, smaller pores, and firmer skin!

I love the Deep Clean Facial Mask! Its Fabulous.

Here are some tips to get the most out of your facial mask.

How to Get the Most out of your Facial Mask

1. Make sure your face has been exfoliated prior to applying your mask.

2. Once you’ve rinsed your face, press warm water all through out your entire face including your neck.

3. Do not wipe off the warm water! Apply a very thin layer of facial mask on to your face as well as your neck. * Applying warm water on your face prior to applying the mask helps open up your pores as well as acts as an agent to get the most out of your mask.* I learned this trick from my mother, a licensed Esthetician for over 20 years.

4. Allow to sit on your face for the amount of time specified on the bottle or container. Rinse off and pat on your facial tonic, apply eye cream, then moisturizer, and an SPF cream if you are going out side no matter if the sun doesn’t shine!

Here are my 5 Essential Summer Items. Keep reading the list below

5 Essential Summer Items

1. Spf 40 uva/uvb sun protection (very water resistant)

2. Refillable water bottle

3. Spf 15 or higher lip blam

4. Sun Shades

5. A good baseball hat ( or any hat you wanna wear to protect your face)

I don’t wear any makeup when I’m on the beach. Unless of course, it’s for a shoot or show. I like to keep it natural and enjoy the Sun, Surf, and Sand!

How to make your manicure look like a pro! Keep reading my 5 easy steps below

What you’ll need:

1. Base & Top Coat (clear, any brand you like)
2. Shade of nail polish (any brand you like any color)
3. Nail polish remover and several cotton puffs (any brand)
4. Hair Dryer (any brand)
5. Nail brush or new dish sponge with rough surface (any brand will do)

What to do:

1. Wash your fingers with soap and lightly scrub with either your nail brush or new dish sponge. I like to scrub with a new dish sponge that is dedicated just for my nails. I use left and right motions to sightly buff my nails. Most importantly, I clean under my nails as well. *Keeping it clean under your nails helps them breeze and stay healthy

2. Using a bit of nail polish remover on a cotton puff, wipe off any old nail polish color. Even if you do not have any nail polish color, this step helps alleviate unseen oils on your nail beds. * Removing any oils on your nail beds helps to keep your new polish from streaking, air bubbling, and uneven application

3. Take your all in one base & top coat. Swipe one layer on your nails, beginning from the center swipe once. Reapply one layer on each side. I like to swipe a thin layer of base & top coat on the center, then re -swipe the wand, reapply another thin coat just on the sides. *Having a good base coat allows the color to show and helps prevent any air bubbling.

4. Now, shake the lacquer a few times. Take the wand and wipe the brush on the inner rim of the bottle. Paint your nails beginning with the center and working your way to the sides. I paint a thin layer on the center of all my nails. Then I re-swipe the wand in the lacquer and wipe the brush on the inner rim of the bottle again and apply on one side of my nails. Repeat and reapply on the remaining side of my nails. Then I apply a thin layer on the ends of my nails.

5. Finally, apply a thin layer of top coat to seal the color and add a bit of gloss. Take your hair dryer and dry your nails for a few minutes. Then blast cool air for another few minutes.

Ja ta! Bom, I hope you found these 5 Easy DIY Steps to a Solon Manicure helpful and maybe amusing
