A Journey to a New Body…
August 20, 2012 by odeliza | Filed under Featured, Health & Fitness, Love & Life Style.Okay, so lately I’ve been feeling a little, well…less fit then I once was. As a child I was always active and did some form of exercise, I really loved to be outdoors.
In my teens I never missed a work out session or yoga session at my local gym. In my early 20′s, still worked out at the gym. I ate pretty much the same, but was able to stay lean and slim.
Around my mid to late 20′s up to now in my early thirties, fitness has been an off and on activity.
I still eat the same types of food but I can see that I am not as disciplined in fitness as I once was.
So, I weighted my self the other day and I am 60kilos which is about 130 lbs and I am about 5’4″ my pant size is a 26 in 7For All Man Kind, and a 27 in Adriano Goldshmiched jeans. Blouses are between a small and medium depending on the style. I have been between 127lbs to 130lbs for about ten years now.
My earlier weight was mostly muscle and my current weight is mostly fat. Though I do not have a muffin top or salt shakers for arms, I still am not lean as I used to be.
I can really tell that my legs aren’t Tina Turner-ish anymore. There is a shadow of the Turner but very subdue. My shoulders used to be coconuts and now they look more like, well… I have no idea what I can equate to how my shoulders are now.
At least I still retain my tight abs, sans the old washboard.
Now, some of you may think that I am pretty fit. I think I am for my age and I think all the hard work I did before really has helped.
But it takes a consistent amount of effort to stay lean and in the best physical shape one can possibly be.
And my body is screaming at me to get up off my ass and get to some exercising.
So, I made an announcement to myself and then to my husband as witness that I shall attempt to loose the fat by the end of this year and be at least 120-125lbs of muscle and stay that way.
As you can see above, I provided a video of my first attempt at introducing a fitness routine to my schedule.
I’ve already done said routine yesterday and today. Actually I am writing this blog right after I finished said work out as more of a break really. I think I may do another ten minute routine after I finished this post.
My goal is to feel more energized. I don’t necessarily want to loose a pant size as I don’t want to have to shop for more pants or skirts. I probably would just have them taken in because I love all my clothes. And, being too thin does not look good on my frame so, I just want to be fit and healthy that is the sum of it.
Anyways, for the rest of this week, since I started yesterday, Sunday, I shall do the ten minute routines I have added along this post. By the coming Sunday, I shall see how I feel and create a completely new routine for the week to come.
Luckily, I’ve kept track of how my muscles and body reacts to fitness routines and know and understand how I should shock myself to a fitter body.
That leaves the month of September when I commence my Make Up For Ever Academy’s full time make up artist program. Two weeks till start of Academy!
My two week goal (which is about the last half of August) is to pre-train every day with these mini 10 minute work outs and a couple walks with Theo and Midori.
Food wise my menu for breakfast will be Museli, coffee with agave, and about 2-4 tall glasses of water.
Lunch will be a third of a fresh baguette sandwich (with either hard broiled egg whites, tuna, or chicken breast) small side of raw vegetables and raw fruit with at least 2 tall water glasses.
Dinner, some sort of protein dish, fresh vegetables, artesian pasta or some sort of pilaf dish and some sort of fresh fruit.
If I get hungry in between meals I think I shall try to drink more water and maybe see how I feel about that.
This is already how I eat now, I just wanted to write it out for those that are interested.
Really, snacking in between meals for me is a no-no. My body doesn’t like it and my stomach starts to protest. So, I know what works for me, it may not work for you, you could always give it a go and see, or not.
The one thing I have about drinking loads of water is that I have such a small bladder that I have to go to the rest room every 5-10 minutes (no joke, husband hates it) and Paris does not really have a whole lot of places to go to the bath room. Some men, go on the street ( I know…yikes, turn the other way and keep walking along), I shall hope I am not in such a desperate position to have to resort to swatting on the streets of Paris.
So, this is why I’ve added loads of water for these two weeks to come, for when I start MUFE Academy, I am going to have to see where there is a rest room in the school (I imagine there is one, but I’ve been surprised of many lately).
Okay, here are the other 10 minutes videos I have lined up for the entire week up to Sunday of next.
Follow along with me if you like, that way I feel as if we are doing this pre-training fitness regime together.
