5 Easy DIY Steps to a Solon Manicure
How to make your manicure look like a pro! Keep reading my 5 easy steps below
What you’ll need:
1. Base & Top Coat (clear, any brand you like)
2. Shade of nail polish (any brand you like any color)
3. Nail polish remover and several cotton puffs (any brand)
4. Hair Dryer (any brand)
5. Nail brush or new dish sponge with rough surface (any brand will do)
What to do:
1. Wash your fingers with soap and lightly scrub with either your nail brush or new dish sponge. I like to scrub with a new dish sponge that is dedicated just for my nails. I use left and right motions to sightly buff my nails. Most importantly, I clean under my nails as well. *Keeping it clean under your nails helps them breeze and stay healthy
2. Using a bit of nail polish remover on a cotton puff, wipe off any old nail polish color. Even if you do not have any nail polish color, this step helps alleviate unseen oils on your nail beds. * Removing any oils on your nail beds helps to keep your new polish from streaking, air bubbling, and uneven application
3. Take your all in one base & top coat. Swipe one layer on your nails, beginning from the center swipe once. Reapply one layer on each side. I like to swipe a thin layer of base & top coat on the center, then re -swipe the wand, reapply another thin coat just on the sides. *Having a good base coat allows the color to show and helps prevent any air bubbling.
4. Now, shake the lacquer a few times. Take the wand and wipe the brush on the inner rim of the bottle. Paint your nails beginning with the center and working your way to the sides. I paint a thin layer on the center of all my nails. Then I re-swipe the wand in the lacquer and wipe the brush on the inner rim of the bottle again and apply on one side of my nails. Repeat and reapply on the remaining side of my nails. Then I apply a thin layer on the ends of my nails.
5. Finally, apply a thin layer of top coat to seal the color and add a bit of gloss. Take your hair dryer and dry your nails for a few minutes. Then blast cool air for another few minutes.
