I’m moving…

March 30, 2012 by odeliza | No Comments | Filed in Health & Fitness, Love & Life Style, Odeliza's Personal Journal

Oi Gentes,

Well, you read the title correct. I am moving. Do you see the gray skies in the back ground? This is a normal occurrence where I currently reside. It can get quite daunting at times. So much so that I relented and purchased a rather chic and unique rain coat with a cute hoody the color of my Mulberry Bayswater in Foggy Gray. I am not wearing it in this picture, as a matter a fact I’ve only worn it twice and since then the rain was really a bit much. It did work though! I was rather surprise at how well my new rain coat repelled water.

I figure I’ll keep it along with me once I move since it is the most chic rain coat I’ve ever seen around this here parts ;)

I’ll hopefully insert a photo soon.

Anyways, yes, long intro, but I am moving. This move has been in the background for about half of last year up to this very month. I did not want to talk about it with you all until I knew for sure that we would move. This month I got the final confirmation that yes! We are moving.

Where? Let’s just say even if it rained, I would still think that this new place will be romantic in the rain. I don’t really want to say where exactly until I set my feet on said mystery location. Call me superstitious, I’m more of an action person and less of a talker person.

So, yes, I am in the process of reconciling all of our household things as well as, separating out clothing, shoes, and accessories that will not go with. Plus more of course, my husband’s wardrobe is meager compared to mine, so that chore would be light.

Really, the only large and time consuming tasks would be clearing out our flat and my things.

I figured it should take me one week for my things and another week for our flat.

I already started working on separating my wardrobe from the keep and the giveaway pile.

So, if you are curious about what are the things I am doing. I will create a sort a, blog post series on our latest adventure!

Beso,

Odeliza

Proenza Schouler PS1 Medium Orchid

March 19, 2012 by odeliza | No Comments | Filed in OOTD

Oi Gentes!

Well, it’s March 2012 a few days before the official date of spring (March 21st) we have company over and thought it would be a nice treat to drive down town and have the best Indian food in our area. It was quite a drive since where we live is almost considered to be an island.

This  is actually the first day that I dared to bring out my beautiful Proenza Schouler PS1 Medium messenger bag in the color Orchid. It rains non-stop where I live, so Collonil Spray and I are best friends forever, or at the moment.

I sprayed my PS1 Orchid the day I got her and then ran out of spray for this little excursion of ours so being a bit worried is the understatement of the year. I was prepared to cover her with my jacket, scarves, and I even brought a new plastic bag just in case.

Even though Spring is in the air for some of my gal pals across the globe, it is still cold, rainy and it snowed last week where I live. So I think I’ve become quite an expert at layering trendy and classic pieces together without adding too much bulk.

I’ve got on a tank top, my stripey long sleeve from BCBG, my black pixie pants from J.Crew, my cropped Juicy Couture denim jacket that I’ve had for at least 9 years, and my Loft wooley faux fur vest.

My booties are from coach a few seasons ago, I love to wear them with out socks, or rather the skin toned socks that hit right below the heel. I think it is a little sexy to show that area of the feet and legs and be covered up every where else during the more chillier seasons.

Of course I’ve got on my MK limited edition rose gold watch and rose gold ring for balance.

The black scarf I’ve had for at least 10 years and can’t even remember where I purchased it. The other black scarf that looks kinda like a net is pure silk that I purchased on one of our trips to Singapore.

My PS1 Orchid adds color to a rather gray after noon and a rather neutral clothing palette. Adorei!

For my face I’ve got on Smashbox‘s tinted moisturizer in luminous, hyper lash mascara in black, brow tech to-go in brunette. For my cheeks I’m wearing MAC‘s  blush  in PeachyKeen and Neon Orange lipstick. For bronzer and highlighter I am wearing NARS‘S Laguna bronzer and Albatross highlighter.

It’s Snowing and I want to weather leather…

March 17, 2012 by odeliza | No Comments | Filed in Health & Fitness, Love & Life Style, Odeliza's Personal Journal

Oi Gentes,

Well, this past week has been an up and down-high and low for both my personal self and the weather. First it’s sunny and then it hails, then to end the bizarre weather it snows! I so want to tote around my beautiful Proenza Schouler’s messenger bags and my new Mulberry’s and Balenciaga’s, but how could I?

I would rather get wet than have any of my precious babies spotted with water!

So, that aside, I am just so tired of this weather. If you’ve followed my blog since the late 90′s you’d know that this type of dark dreary weather gets to my head a bit. I was raised in tropical climates or sunnier weather. Having traveled and lived in areas of the globe where the reprieve from the dark days is rare and limited in time is becoming to be a bit of a bother for me. Granted I do have a little luxury in that, my other half says we could move some where sunnier.

Of course who wouldn’t want to live in Bali? But after awhile I start to want to work on my career as a makeup artist and licensed aesthetician, plus other things I enjoy to do that I can’t quite do if I were to live like a tourist in Bali.

So what has been my solution these past few weeks, I mean, MONTHS? First it was to work out more, it was going along so well until my laptop decided to die on me forever. Now I get in a work out here and there by taking the stairs instead of the elevator and by walking a bit more when I can. Second, I try to think happy thoughts and look forward to what is ahead. I have some really interesting things that could be happening to me in the near future that I can’t wait to share with you all, but for now, I have to wait myself.

Then there is shopping online. Which is not something I do often, but it does help cheer me up.

Then there is my makeup artistry work, which is slow at the moment, so I try to work on ideas and get inspired by future trends.

My Beauty Blog, which I am trying to slowly create a bit more interesting and more up to date posts.

My Beauty Channel, which I try to create new content once a week.

So, I’ve tried to keep myself busy while the weather traps me in doors.

I just can’t wait for any glimpse of Spring to come along so I can start to feel human again instead of a hibernating bear.

I hope you found my post maybe amusing if you have not done so, have a look at my beauty channel (Odeliza’s Beauty Channel) and please show your support by subscribing it means the world to me ;) You can also follow me on Twitter by clicking here (Odeliza’s Twitter)

No Makeup in March 2012

March 13, 2012 by odeliza | No Comments | Filed in Health & Fitness, Love & Life Style, Odeliza's Personal Journal

Oi!

Well maybe I should say, no new makeup purchasing for the month of March 2012. I thought the No Makeup in March 2012 title was a bit more interesting sounding. Anyways, yes, this is my first ever attempt at not purchasing makeup for a whole month. Granted, skin care does not count in my opinion, because it is more of a large buy that should sustain me for at least a few months. Where as makeup is more of an addition to my collection and to keep up with the latest trends in color, texture, and quality.

So, why did I do this to myself? If you are anything like me, you may enjoy the feeling of chasing down limited edition collections and then finally getting your pretty hands on them. Then off to the next limited edition collection to buy and then slightly forget about your most recent buy.

Yes, guilty, that is I. So, this is why I will attempt to not buy any makeup for this month, March 2012. I really want to get to know my ever growing fabulous collection of makeup products. Not only for my own personal use, but for my work as a makeup artist. When I go on set, I like to stick with products I know and trust, but there are so many options out there for me that I seem to shy away from branching off.

Really, that was the original idea for adding to my collection in the first place. To branch off! Try new and interesting things! So, with my new and interesting products I will make a daily attempt to sketch out looks for various aspects that require my touch, from working with my favorite Brazilian models in Rio and SP, to a few actress friends in BA, Argentina and to my gal pals on my beauty channel. My goal is to try to introduce fresh and simple ways to re-create some of my makeup art.

Boa Sorte to me neh?

Mulberry, Midori, Bright Orange Pashmina

March 9, 2012 by odeliza | No Comments | Filed in OOTD

Oi!

Meet Midori, you might of seen her appear in a few of my photos and beauty videos. She is a golden labrador retriever that we adopted in Montevideo, Uruguay. Midori is part of our small family. She adds the youth and energy to our otherwise calm and cool personas.

Here we are at a park. One of Midori’s favorite games to play is fetch, she is so good at catching and returning the ball. She is such a perfect dog! The best dog ever! I know…

On with my OOTD of the day.

I am totting around my Mulberry Oversized Alexa in Nightshade blue silky snake. I adore this bag! It is so me! I know I say that often, but every bag that I own is so me. The color is dark midnight blue and sometimes cast around a different light it is a dark lavender midnight blue. And!!! Sometimes it’s black blue. I know. So me.

My pashmina was a gift from my husband. He picked it out since he knows how much I adore the color orange. I think this orange color is very unique. I have not seen anyone around wearing this bright orange. I have to share my scarf / pashmina collections with you one day.

Moving on to my denim blazer. Isn’t a bit 80′s with the shoulder pads? I am a product of the 80′s so, I guess it is a bit weird that this style has come around again. Which would mean, that I am old. Anyways, I do adorei this blazer, it fits me well with out being to tight around the top area and does define my waist a bit.

The stripe casual shirt I picked up at Madwell and these Pixie pants I purchased at  J.Crew.

I think you’ve probably seen these Clark boots before in my first OOTD post. They are so perfect for days where I would not mind getting a little mud on my shoes from playing in the park with Midori.

My black Ray Ban shades are years old, I mean, I think I’ve had them for at least 7 years. I only own 3 designer shades, 2 Ray Bans and 1 Gucci, the Gucci pair I’ve had since my University years so, a long time.

Midori is really anxious at this point of our walk to play fetch and I am trying really hard to be patient.

I love watches! I am a big fan of the men’s wear inspired watch so much so that I like to borrow my husband’s rolex every once in a while. This time I am wearing my prized possession. My limited edition Michael Kors rose gold watch that is signed by the designer his self! Well, you know what I mean, his signature was embossed on 5,000 of this rose gold version. But I like to think that mine is special. ;) As you can see, there is an ugly gray band around my wrist. If you can remember my first few beauty videos, I briefly touch on my motion sickness issue, well, these are called sea bands and they are suppose to help with the pressure points on your wrist that connects to some part of your ear that helps with motion sickness.

Weither it’s a placebo or not, I like to use it when my motion sickness issues come up, which is rather often.

Here is another photo of my Mulberry isn’t she a beauty? Here it looks like she is almost royal blue with hints of purple. See what I mean about the different shades?

Ta bom amigas, I hope you found my OOTD maybe amusing and helpful. I hope to see you again! If you have not visited my Beauty Channel and shown your support by subscribing please click this (Odeliza’s Beauty Channel). Also, I have a twitter account that you can follow here (Odeliza’s Twitter).
