Here are my 5 Essential Summer Items. Keep reading the list below ;)

5 Essential Summer Items

1. Spf 40 uva/uvb sun protection (very water resistant)

2. Refillable water bottle

3. Spf 15 or higher lip blam

4. Sun Shades

5. A good baseball hat ( or any hat you wanna wear to protect your face)

5 Easy DIY Steps to a Solon Manicure

June 24, 2010 by odeliza | No Comments | Filed in Beauty Tips

How to make your manicure look like a pro! Keep reading my 5 easy steps below ;)

What you’ll need:

1. Base & Top Coat (clear, any brand you like)
2. Shade of nail polish (any brand you like any color)
3. Nail polish remover and several cotton puffs (any brand)
4. Hair Dryer (any brand)
5. Nail brush or new dish sponge with rough surface (any brand will do)

What to do:

1. Wash your fingers with soap and lightly scrub with either your nail brush or new dish sponge. I like to scrub with a new dish sponge that is dedicated just for my nails. I use left and right motions to sightly buff my nails. Most importantly, I clean under my nails as well. *Keeping it clean under your nails helps them breeze and stay healthy ;)

2. Using a bit of nail polish remover on a cotton puff, wipe off any old nail polish color. Even if you do not have any nail polish color, this step helps alleviate unseen oils on your nail beds. * Removing any oils on your nail beds helps to keep your new polish from streaking, air bubbling, and uneven application ;)

3. Take your all in one base & top coat. Swipe one layer on your nails, beginning from the center swipe once. Reapply one layer on each side. I like to swipe a thin layer of base & top coat on the center, then re -swipe the wand, reapply another thin coat just on the sides. *Having a good base coat allows the color to show and helps prevent any air bubbling.

4. Now, shake the lacquer a few times. Take the wand and wipe the brush on the inner rim of the bottle. Paint your nails beginning with the center and working your way to the sides. I paint a thin layer on the center of all my nails. Then I re-swipe the wand in the lacquer and wipe the brush on the inner rim of the bottle again and apply on one side of my nails. Repeat and reapply on the remaining side of my nails. Then I apply a thin layer on the ends of my nails.

5. Finally, apply a thin layer of top coat to seal the color and add a bit of gloss. Take your hair dryer and dry your nails for a few minutes. Then blast cool air for another few minutes.

Ja ta! Bom, I hope you found these 5 Easy DIY Steps to a Solon Manicure helpful and maybe amusing ;)

June 21, 2010 by odeliza | No Comments | Filed in Beauty Tips

How to get rid of white dots under your eyes with 3 easy steps. Keep reading below.

3 Easy Steps to Remove White Dots Under Eyes

What you’ll need

1. Gentle facial scrub (non-acidic; salicylic acid, etc.)

2. Eye gel (cooled in the fridge)

What to Do

1. Pat warm water on your under eyes.

2. Avoiding the actual eyes, gently apply the facial scrub with your ring finger. Using circular motions outwards, start to gently exfoliate your under eyes. Do this for only a few seconds. Your under eyes may start to turn red it should be due to the scrubbing not irritation. Unless your eyes start to tingle, that means you’re using a facial scrub with properties consisting of salicylic acid. Use a gentle scrub with natural properties such as; almond or oatmeal.

3. Wash off with cool water and gently apply your eye gel.

If you do these 3 easy steps once a week, you should start to see the white dots under your eyes minimize. In any facial routine, consistency is key! Remember my motto! Prevent! Protect! Enhance!

Big Bright Eyes in Seconds

Wanna have big bright eyes in seconds? Keep reading :P

How to Get Big Bright Eyes

What you’ll need

1. Soft Khol eyeliner in cream or nude

2. Individual eyelashes and glue

3. Mascara

4. Eyelash curler

5. Soft Khol eyeliner in black

6. Eyebrow scissors

What to do

1. Trim the individual lashes according to the length you prefer. Try to come slightly close to the length of your own lashes. When I apply false lashes on models, I try to come as close to the length of their natural lashes, but slightly longer. This gives the illusion that the lashes are thicker and the eyes are bigger.

2. Swipe mascara onto the individual lashes and allow to air dry. *If in a pinch, fan the lashes ;) *

3. Line your upper water line with black eyeliner.

4. Line your lower water line with a cream or nude eyeliner.

5. Apply the individual lashes. I like to apply two on the outer corner of the eye, two on the slightly center, and depending on how it looks so far, one or two in the center.

6. Allow time for the glue to slightly dry.

7. Incorporate the false lashes with your natural lashes by using an eyelash curler.

8. Apply mascara from the roots to the ends of your top and bottom lashes.

Bom!

This technique will give off the illusion that your eyes are bright, big and fabulous ;)

How to Get Baby Soft Feet without the Spa Price

June 15, 2010 by odeliza | No Comments | Filed in Beauty Tips

I’m a bit apprehensive when it comes to visiting nail spas and solons. I had a terrible encounter a few years back.

Basically, my feet were infected after visiting a nail solon. I had to make several trips to the doctor for damage control and after that, it doesn’t matter how pretty the solon looks or how they boast hygiene. I will not spend any money at a nail solon…ever!

I’d rather save my “Hauls Monthly Budget” for more important things.

So, I resolved to apply these easy steps at least twice before bed time.

Steps on how to get Baby Soft Feet without the Spa Price

What you’ll need:

1. Strong foot scrubber

2. Grainy foot scrub soap or lotion

3. Rich foot cream

4. Pair of clean cotton socks or any breathable material

What to do:

1. During your shower or bath, take the foot scrubber and foot soap or lotion and scrub the bottom of your feet with circular motions until you start to see the unwanted skin come off. *This easy routine takes gradual changes but long term fabulous effects!*

2. Take your clean pair of socks and foot cream. Generously coat both your feet from bottom to top. Finally pull on your socks. This routine is best done before bedtime.

3. Finally get ready for bed and keep the socks on until morning. :P

4. Once you wake up your feet should feel Baby Soft and Fabulous :P

How to Get a Sexy Glow from Head to Toe

When you take a shower consider exfoliating with St. Ives Facial Scrub all over your legs, arms, neck, & face.

As soon as you’re done, coat your body with a light moisturizer. I like to use Johnson & Johnson baby lotion. Do this while your skin is still damp.

Finally, lightly pat off the lotion on your body. This will give your skin an all over healthy glow :P

Get back to Healthy Hair

June 12, 2010 by odeliza | No Comments | Filed in Beauty Tips

Italian women have healthy and shiny hair.

I asked my friend from Italy how Italian women get such amazing hair. The secret?

Olive Oil in foods

Eat foods with lots of Extra Virgin Olive Oil or Simple Olive Oil. It doesn’t have to be Organic to be good for you ;P Just replace butter with Olive Oil. Use a simple salad dressing of Olive Oil and Balsamic Vinegar, or lemon.

Olive Oil in your hair

Take a dash of Olive Oil and massage it from scalp to ends. Leave in for 5 to 10 minutes and rinse off during your shower. Or take a tiny drop about a dime size or less and massage it onto the ends of your hair.

Do this once a week and within a few short weeks you’ll get really healthy hair!
